GERD or acidity is a common problem in children, probably increasing in the last 10 year due to bad food habits and stress. According to new study, around 2% children are affected below 9 year and 5% children are affected between 10 to 18 year.

▪️ Try to sleep and wake up at the consistent time
▪️ Optimize bedroom environment
# Use the bedroom for sleeping purposes, not for studies, in order to strengthen the association between bed & sleep.

# Good ventilation as per your routine habit.,
️No noise in the bedroom. If not possible to avoid noise, use ear plugs
# Switch off light. If it is not possible to avoid light, use an eye pad.

Remember.... If you are living in sharing room with another student, make timetable to switch off noise and light

Maximum children are too busy...
▪️ Get up at 6.30am
▪️ Go to school around 7.30am and come back around 3pm
▪️ Refreshment for 1 hour, sometimes children are forced to study during this time also.
▪️ Go to Tuition from 4pm to 7pm
▪️ Play video games or watch TV for 1 hour
▪️ Self study for 1 hour and go to bed after dinner and use mobile around 11pm.
🔹 Role of parents
It is the duty of parents to find balance between school, activities and play (Not mobile). It can mean the difference between a well adjusted child and a stressed out one
Remember.... Your child mental health is more important than their grades

▪️ Tight fitting clothes create pressure on abdomen for reflux of food into oesophagus

Remember... know how to prevent by following guidelines
🔶 Lifestyle modifications
▪️ Give your child a smaller meal throughout the day rather than 2 or 3 major meals.
▪️ Avoid eating late night, infact eat at least 2 hours before sleep.
▪️ Don't lie on the bed after food, if possible - walk for 10 minutes after eating food.
▪️ Raise the bed from head side by a few inches.
In short... For best result, follow instructions

▪️ Avoid self medication
❇️ Drug during Acute problem
▪️ Ask your Dr to write few drugs if your child had Acute vomiting
▪️ In Spite of medicine, consult Doctor if vomiting is not controlled or intake is poor.
