TEETHING IN INFANT

After the baby is born, the teeth start to come together with other physical development. Your baby was born with all 20 primary teeth below their gum lines. Teething generally occurs between 6 month to 24 month of age, may start erupting late from 12 month and extend till 36 month of age .

πŸ”΄ Symptoms of teething

Remember...Baby is protected till 6 month of age due to maternal immunity. After 6 month of age, babies will develop their own immunity. It will take around 2 year to develop immunity. Hence the baby gets repeated infection during 6 to 24 month of age due to lack of immunity not due to teething.

When the baby is fussy, divert her mind by moving outside of the house or playing with her.

πŸ”Ή Medication should be given if required on the advice of a doctor.

πŸ”΄ Care of baby teeth

Without a healthy set of baby teeth, your child will be having trouble chewing and eating. Proper dental care begins before your daughter's first tooth appears.

Remember...Wipe your baby's gum or brush your baby's teeth after feeding and before bedtime
