Dental caries- causes, symptoms and treatment; Prevention of caries
Hello friendsπ♀π♀π♀
We know that you all are always thinking that why does this dental caries occurs? And what precaution should we take so that we can avoid dental caries and dental pain.
So first of all you must understand that dental infection is not a typical infection like any other infection in our body. Actually dental infection which leads to a dental caries is a structural loss. Every time after eating something if we doesn't rinse our mouth thoroughly, then normal bacterial flora that always occurs in our mouth starts attacking on the food particles which remains stucked in teeth. This procedure releases a typical acid.
This acid demineralizes the calcium and phosphorus which are present in the tooth enamel which is a outer most covering of a tooth and this leads to a structural loss. Initially it can be seen as a white patch. After it leads to brown and then a black cavity. As the time passes width and depth of the cavity increases. In initial stages food lodgement is the only complaint by patient but as this cavity increases it's depth and reaches to pulp of a tooth then severe dental pain occurs. So it is mandatory that if you get this cavity filled by a dentist in its primary stage only, then the structural loss of a tooth will be minimal and you can save your self by facing a dental pain also. There are some other reason also for dental caries. Actually we all know them.
When we eat chips, chocolates or any other types of sticky food, these got stuck in our teeth and bacteria starts acting on them. So either you stop eating such food or rinse and brush your teeth after every meal. So that you can save your teeth from getting carious to some extent. In some cases Heredity is also seen as one of the reasons for dental caries.
Always see that you are eating more of the fibrous food. Also green vegetables, raw food, fruits rich in vitamin C and coconut. This is a preventative measure which can save our teeth from caries.
Brushing technique is very important preventative measure for dental caries.
Always use a soft brush only so that it won't be harmful to our gums.
Brush has to be changed in every 6months .Many times patient asks us that which paste should be used but in fact brush and brushing techniques are more important than the paste. Brushing has to be done vertically to the tooth surface and not horizontally. Otherwise it will create trauma to the gums and this may leads to another problems.
So before concluding i just want to say...plz take care of your teeth and yourself. bye bye
